Music and Theory Lessons
.
from Avid Music

Practice makes perfect?

That goes without saying!

However, more important is your interest in music and playing your instrument.

I have wide experience teaching improvisation, harmonic and rhythmic training, harmonisation, musical gesture and texture, and listening to play. Physical and mental health are equally important areas for development, and I have my own syllabus to teach this.

Piano, drum-kit, organ (electronic or church/pipe), keyboard, and music theory.
For personal enjoyment, project, exams, auditions, online events, recording, learning specific pieces, improvisation, publishing etc.

Lessons and fees

The lessons will be about what you want to learn. A 30-minute lesson should be long enough especially for the young. A longer direction will not feel that rushed.
As a guide, fees are £20 per 30-minute or £35 per hour. Block of lessons is possible and discount is available.

What instruments do you teach, and where?

What about theory and music notation?
Piano, organ and drum kit.

You usually have lessons at your place, but a hired studio is a good idea.  Theory or music notation lessons can be held at any convenient location. Some of the lessons can be online.

If you are taking exams, I teach any grades.

For enjoyment, accompaniment, music or technical development, I usually teach what pieces or techniques you want to learn. Alternatively, I can draw up a plan based on your interests.

Theory and music notation.

You can have theory lessons without learning any instruments from me. If you want to learn theory for better understanding of music rather than to take exams, that will be fine too.

For music notation lessons, please see this page.
